Papergirl in Northampton
My associates and I are in the process of organizing a chapter of this project in Northampton Mass. We simply cannot think of a better community to do this. There will be details and dates later down the road. However, anyone interested in participating in the distribution of the work, documenting the process, or donating work themselves, don't waste any time. You can contact me and let me know. We are hoping the distribution will take place on August 14th, though that may change. For more information about the project you can visit here.

two new paintings up. Check 'em out.
Hello. This is my new website. Try to enjoy. I will frequently try to update this with news, events and current or upcoming shows of mine or others.

The next show of mine at the Limner Gallery in Hudson NY. The Show is up from March 7th-28th. The Opening reception is Saturday, March 7th from 4-6 p.m. Any of you New York friends should try to show up. (Lucas, this means you. I also need a place to stay).

The next bit of information involves one of my favorite people of all. Lillian Harden is having an opening at the 119 Gallery, in Lowell Massachusetts. The show is up from February 10th - 26th and the reception is on Thursday, February 19th from 7-10 p.m. Everyone should attend because it's gonna be great.

One more to go see is The Alchemist's Altar, Paintings From the Ambiguities Series, by Thorpe Feidt. Large paintings. Many large paintings. It's up at the 301 Gallery on Cabot Street from January 20th - February 20th. The reception is Wednesday, January 28th, from 6-8 p.m., and there is a gallery talk on the same day at 11:30 am and 5:30 pm.

While I keep listing things, I feel a certain responsibility considering the Peabody Essex Museum is so close and I personally don't take advantage of it as much as I should. Next Friday the 30th of January however, I'll be there to see Students from the Nam Pai Kung Fu Academy in Chinatown perform a lion dance and lead a martial arts demonstration. Afterwards there will be a screening of one of the first martial arts films accompanied by a live musical act.

"Experience Red Heroine, one of the earliest silent martial arts films, in a completely new way with the music of Boston-based Devil Music Ensemble. Known for its tightly synced and hypnotic musical performances, Devil Music (Brendon Wood, Jonah Rapino and Tim Nylander) can make an audience forget there is a live band directing the mood and pace of the visual imagery. The score composed for Red Heroine pulls from Chinese classical and folk music, as well as soundtracks from classic kung fu cinema. Red Heroine, directed by Wen Yimin (1929), conveys the story of a young woman's transformation from victim to warrior as her journey leads her away from family and marriage toward another world."

The dance and demonstration is from 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm and the film screening is from 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Last but not least, it has come to my attention the Halley Murray has been accepted into the Culturia Artist Residency in Berlin Germany and I would like to congratulate her.
